VISUAL & PERFORMING ARTS
“It’s not enough for our artists to create pieces of art. What we strive for is an understanding of the process that leads to the final piece. Regardless of skill level, our students are creating art, and each stroke of paint that touches canvas is allowing them to say ‘I did that.’
We want our artists to find their voice, for some it’s verbal, for some it’s in writing, for others, it’s in the arts. Our students that find their voice in the arts should be nurtured and celebrated.
Our creativeness is a reflection of our Creator and by making art we glorify Him.”
- Scott Joseph | Department Chair
The BCHS arts curriculum is suitable to all levels of artistic ability and interest. It urges students to improve their talents but also confers upon them knowledge and experience.
Educating the whole student adds breadth to each student’s overall education at BCHS. All students are required to complete one year in arts, however, many students choose to continue their arts education beyond what is required.
